CASE SPARSE - FOTOGRAFARIO

The project “Case Sparse” (scattered houses) was born inside the experience of the photographic club “Riflessi”.
Is a collection of pictures lucubrated and found in the surroundings of home space. Abandoned countryside farms are the absolute protagonist of this collection, portrayed in, out and about.

The pictures of this collection are also meant to be a criticism towards too invasive and frivolous modernity, whose arrogance screeches against quietness and mildness of rural architectures. This is also a call for a maybe less comfortable lifestyle, but in a more harmonious relationship with nature’s pace. It’s a kind of shout of rebellion expressed trough images, a radical change of mind, a search for deeper roots and traditions.

“Case sparse” is also a tribute to Luigi Ghirri, great photographer and delicate soul. He has been the initiator of the project, but his premature death break off the dream. We like to believe that Luigi left the project intentionally open to give us the chance to get onboard with our contribution. Thus, we approach Luigi’s art with great humility and a strong emotional attachment, feeling fully identified and at home in his scattered houses.

PHOTOGRAPHIC CLUB RIFLESSI

The photographic club “Riflessi” was founded in 2013. In 2014 we have joined the “Altoliventina XX secolo”, a wonderful network that has been working over 40 years in the promotion of culture and arts in the territory of Alto Livenza, northeast of Friuli Venezia-Giulia region.

We feel united and led by a common passion for art, being photography our privileged language. We aim to improve and share our skills and knowledge, also by exploring the experience and ideas of our predecessors and masters, those who managed to catch in a picture the eternity of a moment.
